![]() I did the leaderboard thing 40+ years ago, OShogun. It is an amusing, pay what you feel comfortable with diversion while we await D4. If D:($) doesn’t do it for you, quit whining and go back to mindless grinding in D3.Īs a reminder - YOU ARE NOT THE TARGET AUDIENCE FOR D:($). There are as many different ways to play a game as there are players. Sadly, Blizzard has become precisely that: toxic. It’s not a defeat to leave a toxic part of your life behind. ![]() I do agree with you however, that this should be framed as a victory for Wudijo and the others. They’re risking their personal connections with Blizzard that they have developed over the years as well, here. These guys have poured so much of their lives and now their careers as well into doing this, it’s a huge decision for them, and yes, it’s emotional. It was nothing like when I walked away from WoW where I had literally years of in-game time invested. I had no problem walking away from Immortal, but I had only a dozen hours of time in. If you watch their videos, they’re all deeply torn about leaving it. When you invest that much time and effort on a hobby that it becomes a personal passion project, yes, you invest emotionally. These are guys who have put in long hours helping make that game and they’ve done it entirely for free, because of their love for the game. And while they do it for money, of course, they also do it because they’re incredibly passionate about these games. They’re providing a service that countless gamers actually use to learn how to play a game well. You can call it “capitalizing,” but that’s just a very cynical view of what they’re doing. Of course they were going to try and put together this type of resource. They’re professional gamers who run a fan site. Hopefully you don’t also feel sad for them, man. It’s their loss that they chose to capitalize on this morally bankrupt venture providing tepid gameplay. Should never have been an opportunity for them.
